Not Now Chief, I'm in the F*n Zone!

So, Phil says that I have to update my blog in order to get a donation from him for the Walk for the Cure. Quite a bit has happened since my last update, but I'm going to start with my new healthy lifestyle. Mark and I decided late last year that we had to go on a diet. We had both gained weight since we moved in together and we had to do something about it.

We started our new lifestyle on January 5, 2008. Now, two months later, we have each lost 20lbs! How did we do it, you ask? First of all, we got ourselves in a workout routine that really works for us. I walk on the treadmill for 55 minutes a day, at least 5 days a week (usually 6). His workout involves weight lifting, push ups and pull ups and stuff like that. I don't mess with that crap! Secondly, our diet has changed dramatically. We mainly avoid anything that has calories from fat, which means lots of fruits, veggies, and beans.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not a diet kind of girl. But since we started I am in better shape, have more energy, and generally have a better attitude. The trick is, we have cheat days. I know I could have never kept up with it if we didn't cheat. We give ourselves a free meal on Saturday and one on Sunday, when we can eat whatever we like. Plus we drink on Saturdays (sometimes even on Fridays).

So, I just wanted to brag about what a good job we have done! I am pumped about what I have lost already and have a 45lb goal by Memorial Day. Maybe putting it in writing will add to the motivation.

In honor of healthy exercise I am adding the infamous Youtube video "My New Haircut." If you haven't seen it check it out. It's hillarious!

WARNING: DO NOT WATCH WITH KIDS IN THE ROOM! CONTAINS NAUGHTY LANGUAGE, LOTS OF IT!

Pay It Forward

This year I will be participating in the Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure and I encourage you all to go to my website to make a donation. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated. We have all been touched by cancer in our lives, so it's important that we all try to do something to find a cure. Specifically, as a woman, I feel that this is a great organization to support. Thank you all!
