Back to the Ski Trip

It's been almost a month since Ski Trip 2006. That means we've all been back to work, back to reality and sober (for the most part) for a whole month. That's depressing. For this blog entry I want us all to imagine we are still there. Those who couldn't make it, and were deeply missed, imagine you didn't miss it. (Those of you who know nothing about the Ski Trip should be very jeolous and imagine you are cool enough to be invited next time.) Ahhh. That's better. Here are a few funny moments caught on film that are sure to help the creative process.

The Daves win the Pool Tournament, again. Boo Mother F'ers Boo!

Sunday's Drunk Group Sing. I wonder which Monster Ballad we are belting?

Stop. Collaborate and Listen.

Stair Diving makes a return.

Okay, I hope that everyone enjoyed the trip back in time. Lucky for all of us, Jen is planning a summer version of our yearly getaway. I can't wait for everyone to get together and create some more blurry memories.

Thanks to Jana, Melissa and Kristin for the pictures.

Wildcats vs Mountaineers

This weekend I watched as WVU beat U of L and UK narrowly lost to LSU. It became apparent that WVU has a good chance of going far in the Tourney, while UK will be lucky to receive a bid. As I watched, a question came to mind. I have connections to both of these schools and am a fan of both of these teams, but where do my real devotions lie? Lets examine this further.

The Coaches

Tubby Smith:
Best Black Coach in America. Need I say more?

John Beilein:
I don't know a lot about this guy, but he has taken a less than mediocre program and created a force to be reckoned with.

The Mascots

Awww, he's so cute and furry.

He has a gun.

The Country Boys

I have always had quite an affection for good ole country boys. Lets take a look at two of my favorite.

Patrick Sparks, or "Sparky" as I like to call him, has become known for his 3-point shot. I love when Sparky shoots a 3, but I become more smitten when he talks. It is so cute when he is being interviewed and that Muhlenberg County accent comes rolling out of his mouth.

Kevin Pittsnogle, or "K. Pits" as I like to call him, can also shoot 3's with the best of them. K. Pits, unlike Sparky, is covered in tattoos, which adds to his white trash appeal. I've always been a sucker for tattooed rednecks (hence my obsession with Britney and K.Fed).

The History

7 National Championships. Adolph Rupp. Rupp Arena. Most Victories All Time. 25 SEC Tournament Championships.

Jerry West. That's all I can think of.

What is the conclusion?
WVU is a great team. I will continue to watch them and root for them to win big in March.
However, I am and always will be a Cat fan.
I live in Lexington. I am UK alumni. I have a freakin blue paw print tattooed on my body!
I Bleed Blue. Was there ever any doubt?

Dixie + Peanut = BFF

Friday night, in a drunken haze, I had an epiphany. Jana and I have been best friends for about 8 years. Her dog, Peanut, is adorable and Dixie is obviously the coolest dog ever. Yet, they have never met. How could this be? I immediately text messaged Jana and set up a play date. Dixie and I stopped by Huntington today on our way home from Elkview.

At first Peanut was not very friendly. She growled, barked and snapped. Dixie, on the other hand, was as cool as a cucumber. She looked at me like she was thinking, "What the hell is wrong with this dog, Mom?" We took the dogs outside and Peanut began to mellow out. Before we knew it, they were playing like old friends. I think they love eachother.
