Memorial Day Weekend

This was such a great weekend. It was very relaxing and that is just what I needed. I took Friday off so I had four days of zero responsibility. Of course, since it was a long weekend, I spent my time with Bryan in Missouri. He actually got some time off of work, so it was really nice. Sunday we decided to go fishing. It was a lot of fun, because I haven't fished in at least 3 years. I'm fairly certain the last time I went was also with Bryan, so it's been awhile. All we caught were a couple bluegill and a snapping turtle. Honestly, I didn't catch anything. But Bryan was holding my pole when he caught the turtle, so I'm gonna say I caught it.

My weekend really wasn't very eventful, but I had a great time just hanging out with Bryan. We slept in, had a cookout, fished and went to the movies. What else could you want for a holiday weekend?

The Dollar Tree Incident

This afternoon I ran to the Dollar Tree to pick up some things. I was in there a total of 5 minutes. When I got out to my car I was in for a surprise. A big hoopty had swiped my car. The car was so close to my Jeep that I couldn't open either door on the driver's side. They had scratched my back fender and the car was still parked up against mine. The two vehicles were touching. I had no idea what to do. I couldn't move my car. I called Bryan and explained my predicament. He told me to call the police. I didn't think this was an emergency, so I really didn't know how to handle it. I called my parents too and they said the same thing as Bryan. Damn. So I call the police and they are on their way. In the meantime, the lady driving the other car comes out of the store. She said she didn't even realize she hit me. Crackhead. The police came and directed me on how to move my car without causing more damage. After pulling away it turned out that I only had a minor scratch. The officer filed a report, we exchanged information and were on our way. This kind of thing would only happen to me.

On a happier note, here are some pictures from the weekend. Stay tuned for entries about my Memorial Day Trip to Missouri. Four days and counting...

Cinco de Momma's Birthday

Friday was my mom's 50th birthday. We had a celebration at my parents' favorite bar, Griff's. It was family and a few friends and we all had a great time. I came from KY, my brother came from Cali and my grandfather came from Florida, so it was quite a get together. Everyone else at the bar was celebrating Cinco de Mayo, so I decided to rename the holiday Cinco de Momma's Birthday.

My Aunt Cheryl, Me & My Grandpa

The bar passed out these derby hats b/c of the Kentucky Derby. Doesn't my aunt look like Debbie Gibson in it?

In other news, my dad bought a new boat this weekend. It's a new pontoon and he's waiting for the camper top to be installed. I must say that it is kick ass. He took my brother and I to see it on Saturday. We were still a little goofy from the night before, so we posed for some stupid pictures.

Duane is the happiest boy in the USA.

I know, I look like Popeye. (The Drunk Hair makes a comeback)

In yet more news, my parents got a new puppy English Bulldog. They've actually had it for a couple months, but I don't think I've mentioned it. Peaches now has Daisy to compete with for their love.

Thank god the puppy is cute, I look retarded.

A Good Beer Buzz Early in the Morning

The feeling you have the morning after a good drunk is uncomparable. It's so great to wake up and still have a buzz instead of feeling like crap. It does suck, however, if you have to go to work that morning. I went out with Savannah, Brandon, Teran and Brett last night for a post-birthday celebration. It was no big deal, just Marikka's and $1 drafts at the bowling alley. Let me tell ya, we took advantage of the cheap beer. I think all of us left there feeling no pain. It's pretty bad when you close down the bowling alley on a Tuesday.

Notice the stack of empty cups in front of us.

I have to be at work at 8am. I woke up at 7:25am this morning. That means no time for a shower. I pulled my nasty drunk hair back and grabbed the first clothes I came to on my floor. When I worked at TRU I went to work still drunk from the night before on numerous occassions. It really wasn't that bad. Going to work at an insurance company with a buzz/hangover really bites. I don't think I sobered up until about 10, but my hair stayed drunk all day.

Brandon's hair got drunk too.
